Often Novo is wearing sunglasses for more than just a fashion statement; it's to fend off headaches from his last bender. One of the first things one will notice about the Shetona are the glowing marks over his skin. These are electrope interface runes, Novo's way to access the elemental material grafted into bone and keeping essential organs working after a near-death experience. This was done without his permission and is completely experimental. Fortunately, his expertise in electrope engineering has aided him in managing the proper levels of elemental balances to, well, NOT DIE.Without his sunglasses, one will likely notice that his hetereochromia isn't natural; the right orb has been replaced with an electrope implant. Novo had this done shortly after earning his prestigious job as a ring designer at the Arcadion. It allows him to detect and monitor elemental shifts in the volatile mineral and then take appropriate steps to tame it to proper polarity. This was essential to repair rings on the fly during matches and now has become a lifesaver with his implants.

Solution 9 fashion is still his go-to, finding Eorzean clothing too "rustic" for his liking. Novo prefers tight-fitting attire with teasing cuts to show off a lithely-muscled form that he is quite proud of. Novo hails from a relatively unremarkable background. His mother was an educator for children before the Dome and continued along that path. As a result, she quickly put him on the road to improve himself, kindling a love for reading and exploration (sometimes too much so!) He did very well in his education, easily earning a spot in a top tier program. Upon graduation and certification, the charismatic Shetona secured work within the Arcadion as a technician. His out-of-the-box thinking combined with his ability to charm people to his way of thinking led to him crawling up to primary ring designer.He excelled, becoming a well-known socialite in the highest rings of Everkeep society. This unfortunately led to negative attention as he was approached to begin gambling and fixing matches by altering the ring in a fighter's favor. It started small and then ballooned to the point that Novo was left with no more soul cells to barter and was forced to flee collectors. Then the life-changing attack on S9 occurred and he was left half-crushed by debris. Plucked up by less than charitable scientists, they implanted electrope grafts within his body to keep the aether flowing. When he woke, he ran, now having another band of angry criminals after him.The Dome was left behind as he ventured into Eorzea to start a new life, using the only thing he had; his own body. Intermittent pain from his implants has exacerbated a drug habit, leading to earning coin in any way he can. One day, he does wish to return to a normal life within Solution 9 instead of just quick indulgent visits.
